Sara Steinhart’s passion for performing began at an early age, opening for acts including The Benny Goodman Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and Maynard Ferguson. During this time she began working in local regional theatre, completed an internship with the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, and was a Pennsylvania Governor’s School of the Arts fellow in Drama.

She headed to New York City to begin her collegiate studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (CAP 21). She then transferred to Manhattan School of Music. While at MSM, she was cast in the College Light Opera Company, where she sang Marianne in The New Moon, Adrianna in The Boys from Syracuse, and Carlotta in Phantom.

Ms. Steinhart received her Bachelor of Music from MSM, and went on to apprentice with Dicapo Opera Theatre, NJ Opera Theatre, and Operaworks. She made her New York City stage debut as Mrs. Fiorentino in Street Scene. Other operatic roles include Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. She made her New York City concert debut as featured soloist with the Mendelssohn Glee Club, and has sung in the Encores concert series at City Center.

Ms. Steinhart is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association. She is also a graduate of the William Esper Studio. She recently played Marie in The Lesson at Center Stage, NY, and Isobel Glass in The Secret Rapture at the Sanford Meisner Theatre. Her film debut was in Alan Rudolph’s The Secret Lives of Dentists. Ms. Steinhart considers herself extremely lucky to be Jay T. Johnson’s partner, both onstage and off.
